Andrew Adesman, M.D.
Dr. Adesman received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He completed his Residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, DC. He also completed a Fellowship in Child Development and Rehabilitation at the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In addition to Board certification in Pediatrics, Dr. Adesman is Board certified in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and also Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics.
Dr. Adesman is currently Chief of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York (CCMC) of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in New Hyde Park. He is also Director of the Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Center in the Department of Pediatrics at CCMC (formerly Schneider Children’s Hospital).
Dr. Adesman has authored many research and review articles on ADHD, and has contributed to such publications as Contemporary Pediatrics, Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, Pediatrics, and Pediatric Clinics of North America.
Dr. Adesman served for four years on the National Board of Directors of CHADD, and is now on its national Professional Advisory Board. He is also on the Professional Advisory Board of the Suffolk County Chapter of CHADD in New York. Since 1999, he has consistently been included in the Castle Connelly guide to How To Find the Best Doctors: New York Metro Area, and is frequently recognized by New York magazine as one of the Best Doctors in New York.
