On being blind and having ADHD
The widely repeated finding that vision impairment raises ADHD risk comes almost entirely from people with low vision. In the one study that separated the two groups, blind participants had a lower rate than the low-vision participants, and within the sample ADHD went with better acuity, not worse. Being blind does not appear to make you more likely to have ADHD. It makes you far more likely to have it missed.
