ADHD rarely travels alone: three ways to read the numbers
If you have ADHD and read that half of people like you have anxiety, you may conclude something is inevitable. It isn’t. If you’re parenting a child with ADHD, the conditions most likely to accompany it are different from the ones that accompany it in adulthood — which changes what you watch for and when. And a clinician who treats co-occurrence as a foregone conclusion may miss the condition that’s actually there, or treat symptoms that belong to ADHD itself.
